Thursday soccer update!

I know you all were waiting with bated breath for this, so here it is!!!! Oh, you weren't? Well here it is anyway...

First, in Champions League action, Steaua got bounced in Bucuresti, 3-0 by French powerhouse Lyon and are 1-0-1 thus far in the group stage. It doesn't look to be any easier from here as their next two matches are home and away vs. Real Madrid.

In UEFA Cup, Rapid and Dinamo both advanced to the next stage with wins on the day. Rapid beat Nacional today, but needed extra time to secure the 3-1 aggregate win. Up 1-0 in the first leg, they went down 1-0 early today, making it 1-1 on aggr. In the overtime period however, Rapid was able to nick two goals, handing the Portuguese side their walking papers. Dinamo had a much easier time beating Greek side Xanthi, with an 8-4 aggr. dismissal. Dinamo came into the match up 4-3, and finished it off in style, 4-1!

Tonight, Knights FC battles Veteranos at 6:00PM! See you at Ninian Park!
