the baseball diaries

Angels sweep the Red Sox at Fenway!!!

Yes, you read it right, the Angels are charging ahead and sweeping teams at will, including the Red Sox in Boston for the first time in, well, a really long time. Simply awesome! The team even picked up some power in the form of Mark Teixeira this week from the the Braves. They gave up Krotch Gobbie, but that OK because Tex's bat brings 20 homers with it and hope fully more!

Not to take anything away from Sit'n Sleep, because he's been en fuego lately, like hitting 2-run homers in back to back nights at Fenway and just picking up his hitting over all.

The pitching has been outstanding of late as well, with His Lackness almost pitching a no hitter, home piece Barry Saunders winning his 14th of the year, and even Magic keeping his era under 4.00.

All this adds up to the Angels carrying the best record in the majors and only 6 losses in their last 24 games! Pretty nice time to be an Angels fan!

Tonight the Angels head to the Yank for four games. Fine by me, the Angels own these guys!
