WAKE UP CALL!!!

The Angels are heading to Chokeland, ready to finish this AL West winning season! YEAH!

But wait, don't get too excited, they just got swept by lowly Texas receiving their worst road loss of the season on Tuesday, 16-2! What the heck is this? Can we have an ounce of momentum entering into the post season please? Sheesh...

And yet, THEY WON THE WEST!!!!

I hope the face NY so they can bounce the Yank from yet another post-season.

Let's hope for a sweep of Chokeland to carry some hope and good fortune into October.

GO ANGELS!!!

Gotta Love It!

This was easily my favorite Browns moment since their return to the NFL. I hate Chad Johnson.

Are you ready for some...

BASEBALL!!!!??

Whoa, this is pretty awesome. The Angels are waaay ahead of the Portside Patsies, poised to win the West. With a magic number of just 3, they also share the best record in all of baseball with the Tribe.

After sweeping the Drays on some awesome pitching efforts from His Lackness and dare I say, Magic, the Angels Host Seattle on a four game stint. These are the reported pitching matchups:

Leave it to Weaver vs. Feierabendover, tonight
Barry Suanders vs. Boingo, tomorrow night
Lambo vs. Batistuta, Saturday
His Lackness vs. His Hair Weave, Sunday

Check out these blokes:

Johnny Rivers is back with a vengeance, having already hit 2 homers! Fignuts seems to be hitting everything that comes his way, and we've all documented Sit' N Sleep's wake up about a month ago. Sheesh, I say it's about time! I wait for the playoffs with abated breath.

Cleveland, Colts, & Complaining

"Et quand personne ne me lira, ay-je perdu mon temps, de m'estre entretenu tant d'heures oisives, à pensements si utiles et aggreables?" – Montaigne (See Ch. XVIII, where he begins, “And though nobody should read me, . . .”)

First the Mariners came to town as the hottest team in baseball and we swept them. Now the Tribe comes rolling in as the hottest team in baseball and game one is in the books after a convincing victory by the Halos, 10-3. Fellas, our team is good. They’ve had their issues here and there, but they are competing to finish the season with the best record in all of baseball. And what do we do? Again we sit idle, twiddling with thoughts in our own heads while the world awaits. Or does it? And should we care? If the King of Sweden can’t motivate, than what else? Ah, but let’s just enjoy ourselves then, shall we?

Well, it’s like this. The Angels are eight games over Seattle, the best margin for any division leader. They play most of the remaining games at home, where they sport the best home record in the Majors this season. They have arguably the most consistent rotation of any team, are fielding well this season and are now displaying timely hitting and even power. S&S has been unknown for the past two weeks. Okay, he still fields skittishly, but may we complain during this display of production at the plate? Last night’s game was his eleventh consecutive with an RBI, setting the club record. They are a strong, balanced team and a legitimate contender for the pennant.

Meanwhile, the NFL season got underway with a boring game. Defending Indy walked past the Saints at home, but I was busy watching DC United concede a two goal lead over Chivas USA and settle for a 2-2 draw. Chivas’ first goal was a tall tale. Perkins tried to clear with Razov coming on, and had his kick deflect off Razov straight to his own goal! I hope this setback does not reverse United’s fortunes after a perfect August.
